What we teach in Physical Education

Physical Education at SSSGS supports the physical development, health and wellbeing of every child through structured movement, sport and yoga sessions integrated weekly.

Foundations
Grades 1–2
  • Basic movement skills — running, jumping, throwing, catching
  • Yoga and stretching for body awareness
  • Cooperative games and team play
Build
Grades 3–5
  • Skill development across team sports
  • Yoga — breath, balance and focus
  • Athletics fundamentals
Depth
Grades 6–8
  • Team sport strategy and competitive play
  • Fitness testing and goal-setting
  • Leadership in sport and group activities
